holding snake

Well, I usually hold mine once a day for anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. But my cornsnake is a year and a half old. So for starters you should hold your cornsnake for about 5 to 10 minutes every day, well not everyday, leave him alone for at least 24 hours after you feed him, I even leave mine alone for 48 hours just to make sure he isn't going to poop on me because after about 2 days he's already gone in his cage. Also since your snake is still a baby I'd hold him over the cage just to make sure if he jumps out of your hands he cant get away cause he'll fall into the cage, also it will be a shorter and softer landing for him, because they can be quick when they're babies..

i love to hold my snake digger. but is it ok to hold your snake alot?

Hi Tyler,
He should be fine....maybe...When did you get the snake? And was it a hatchling? Because a first you should let the snake settle in for a few days in his in cage. then start handling him for five to ten minutes a day,for a few weeks or so then you should be fine after that. But I would wait 48 hours (two days) to handle the snake after feeding it. To help prevent a regurge.

Here a few links you should read up on too.

Good Luck with your snake

i would say it is good to hold your snake a lot. Just be sure that when he just ate wait 2 1/5 days until you hold your snake again. Also make sure you don't disturb him when he is shedding. Those are the only 2 times you shouldn't hold your snake.

Besides those times hold him as much as you want :)
