How cool would it be to own this snake....

I tottaly would love one! Anyway here is the info on it!

Looks like a PITA to me! But cool-looking. Only eats tadpoles and frogs? No thanks! Hoggies are bad enough.

Almost looks venomous. Odd it would be so heavily keeled (ridged, even) and be fossorial. Looks like an obligate amphibian eater, that's too bad. Thanks for sharing!

xD you have to admit it is a cool looking snake! It reminds me of Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon.

Yeah... I have no clue how accurate any of the info on that site is.

My husband really wants one of those! Not likely to happen though!

I know >.< its a "wish I could" type thing.

Aw, someone cut off that poor alligator's legs!

Seriously though, I've never heard of that species, but it's really awesome looking!

I've wondered about keeping these since I first saw an article about them about a year or so ago. Very cool looking and would love to have them. But heard they don't do so good in captivity.

Only eats tadpoles and frogs!? I didn't know that. Hmmmm I has lots of those. I keep bullfrogs and green frogs. They have lots and lots of tadpoles when I breed them lol. Hmmmm. One day. Maybe one day I can has one when the secrets of keeping them in captivity are found out.

Saw this on my facebook recently, somehow I knew that's the snake this thread would be about.

Unfortunately some things are best left well enough alone :(

Here's an albino that someone in Europe hatched out a while back. EDIT: This specimen was a wild caught. There have only been claims of captive bred specimens, but no actual proof.

They're absolutely fascinating snakes, and I would love to own one someday. However, it would be in a huge display tank that was setup with a small pond for tadpoles and frogs to develop. I would pretty much leave the snake alone, except to look at it every now and then through the glass.

Its a Dragon snake. very cool!! yah, they need high humidity, almost complete darkness, and fed live frogs.. Something I read:

The problem is very much the husbandry - no matter how they are kept they simply dont survive. There has been a suggestion that a keeper in France (I think) had apparently bred them but this has never been confirmed.
From what is known about them they are obligate frog eaters and die very quickly in captivity.
