I have a cat that would not leave my little amel cornsnake alone. I don't know if it was the appeal of watching a "living piece of string", or that she actually liked the snake. She would just sit on top of his cage and purr. She'd never poke with her paw, just watch, and purr. She'd come there several times a day to watch him. Then, sadly, he died and I put the cage in the garage and the cat went around for a couple of weeks panicking and crying looking for "her" snake. I have another one that she knows about too, but Beavis was "her" snake.

I had a big green iguana who free-ranged in the house. He didn't have a cage. We had four cats. He chased the dark tortoiseshell cat whenever he saw her. He ignored the big tabby and the big Siamese. The small, sort of "not all there" Siamese could get in the windowsill in the sun with him and rub on him and purr at him.
