^ It looks like a stuck shed might have deformed it.

Beautiful snake, but I would certainly do what you can to soak that tail. It can fall completely off if you don't keep an eye on the stuck sheds. The sheds can become like a rope that's tied around an old tree, and they tighten around the snakes tail, which cuts off circulation. Which will eventually cause the tail to die and fall off, and then you have the added risk of infections.

Of course, the tail may have already been damaged, so now the sheds stick a little more during shedding. So I don't mean to preach, or assume that it just went uncared for. But I would certainly keep an eye on sheds near the tail either way.

Happy to report that Martha's tail has had a successful tail shed since her surgery. (Actually the head & the tail were the only successful bit about it but we got it all)
