Mold in tank

I've been keeping the humidity very high in Lexi's cage to help her shed. I just noticed a little bit of mold forming on her little log dome. I had this problem before in my pythons' cage. To correct the problem, I just replaced the log with rock. Does anybody have an idea why this is happening? Will this affect my snakes health? Is it okay to have a little bit of mold in her tank? What should I do to fix this problem in both tanks? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Well the mould is happening because of the humidity. Maybe it's a little too high as mould isn't a good thing. My advise would be to lower the humidity and clean out the viv.

yes

Another idea is instead of raising the humidity in the entire cage make a humidity box out of a small tupperware container and some moss.

From my understanding, mold is a very bad health hazard.. i would def clean out your entire enclosure, with that log.. soak it in some boiling water, that will kill anything juss about.. what are u keeping your humidity at?? if i remember correctly, 50-60% is the right humidity level for a corn.. If your really trying to assist the shed, try misting the cage a couple times a day.. this will increase the humidity for a while but will not give mold a chance to grow.. def watch out for mold in tha future

I AGREE

With Neil, mould means too much moisture...................

Yeah, I'm with this...

Here's one I made for my Leos

Depending on the size of your snake, you could use exactly the same method I did... just using the right size tub for your guy :)

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I might try a little tupperware hide box for humidity and I'll definately take care of that log. Thanks again for the help.
