Sort of. Several of my freshly hatched amels look rather motley-esque... I figure it has something to do with them all being het for Stripe.
Even a snake who has no motley genetics can display a perfect, motley-esque pattern, though. My bloodred has a very precise pattern, but I highly doubt he's even possibly het for motley or stripe because that's the kind of thing the seller would have advertised alongside his anery and amel poss hets.
And, of course, obligatory pictures! =)
#1 & 2: '09 Amel het Caramel Stripe -- The most "motley-esque" pattern in the bunch
#3 & 4: '08 Bloodred ph Amel and Anery -- most likely no motley/stripe gene present
