Motley Influence

What influence does the motley gene bring to a morph? Rich had said something about how Motley Butters were a different shade than Butters. Does it lighten or darken or change the colors or all of the above. How about Lavender Motleys? Are they a different color than Lavenders? :shrugs:

Thanks,
Dan Wilson

Well, motley is a pattern morph, but you'll hear Rich and others talk about the "phantom hypomelanism" sometimes exhibited my the motley gene.

Butter mots are a brighter yellow, in most cases, and it seems that Lav mots are the same way.

Because the motley gene affects the saddle and the borders, alot of motleys tend to be lighter than a snake of the same morph with a normal pattern
