Hi,
My cornsnake is CONSTANTLY moving like from the warm side to the cool side.I am sorta new at this whole snake thing so any help would be GREAT i have Achilles in a 45 gallon and he is about a foot long.Is it because he is hungry?to much room? Please help!!!

That is a huge tank for such a little corn! XD

How are you heating the tank? What are your temps? How are you measuring them? How are you controlling them?

sorry work.but i heat it with a pad and bulb.it reads at 85 warm 77 cool and digital.I have 4 hides and branches and vines.Lets just say this is one spoiled corn snake.

Where is the probe for the thermometer?

Corns don't need a bulb at all. They are primarily crepescular, which means they are active at dusk/night/dawn. The ambient temperature can get quite low, but the ground remains warm for some time. It could be that the ambient temperature on your warm end is too warm for the guy, but he wants/needs his belly heat and so is having to run back and forth to regulate properly.

Occasionally couple of my corns will become very active before setting down an go into a shed cycle.

Are they checking down on the ground under the bedding? Do you have a thermostat or rheostat on the heating pad? If you do not I can't almost guarantee that the snakey is getting to hot and having trouble regulating himself.

with shedding and the probe is not on the heating pad and the bulb just gets the chill off because up in massachusetts its pretty cool

The air temp doesn't matter. The probe needs to be directly above the heat pad, under the substrate.

Well the temps on top of the substrate don't really matter, since the corn can burrow and touch the glass, so that's where you want to measure your temps. I would say that he may be too hot and that is why he is moving around a lot.
