She's currently on repti-bark out of i was to lazy to mix a batch of substrate. Typically put most of my snakes on either 50/50 ecoearth and top soil or between 50/50 - 75/25 ecoearth/reptibark. Quarantine or special needs get papertowel.

But other times (especially one as hearty and tolerable as a corn snake) they get 100% of what's closest at hand.

Pretty! I bet her hets are either lavender, or amel + anery, possibly hypo, possibly caramel.

My male het amel/charcoal/pied

Wow, your male is so handsome. He just has that 'look'. She looks great too. Looking forward to seeing the family and if Nanci is correct on her hets.

Thank you! As am I but not looking forward of the 3 year wait. Good thing I have lots going on with other things in the meantime.

Haha, I don't think so. We don't do any bite sports or anything. She is adopted (from Julie Allen at The Malinois Ranch Rescue in TN) and doesn't have the drive for bitework. We do some nosework, but otherwise she's just a pet. I did used to hang around Cher Car a little bit last year. I'm planning on getting another dog and doing IPO, but that won't be for another 2-3 years.

I started my bite work u at Chercar about a decade ago, my first male the one to the right is from a 2005 River x Ramsey breeding. Ha! I occasionally donate money to Julie when they are raising funds to help get Mals shipped.

Such a small world.

These locations probably look a bit familiar ;)

Those are some very handsome boys! =D I thought the one had that River/Ramsey look. So funny.

If you follow Julie you may recall that last fall she got in 2 pregnant Mals. Well Dolly, the one that had 12 puppies, ended up mine. I renamed her Indy.

This is my girl:

Oh I absolutely do remember that! That's so awesome that she ended up with you! I can't believe she ended up in EL haha. Crazy small world. I would take in a foster or adoption but my youngest Leyf is dog aggressive to the extreme (except to Kriger). I got him after he spent a couple months as a K9 for a large Ohio PD. Bit 3 officers, handlers wife, ect. When he arrived at the Kennel I now occasionally train with he bit a club member (who was warned about him btw) and then I said I'd take him. I got his leash and he got my leg. We straightened that out and 4 years later here we are as best buds. But he still leaves the house in a muzzle.

Yup, I found her on FB and drove all the way to TN just to pick her up.

Wow, that's awesome that you took on a dog like that and made it work out. Good for you for giving him another chance. At least you can have your corns. =P

I wouldn't say Indy is dog aggressive, but she really doesn't care for them being in her space and will growl, which we are working on. But it doesn't help when people let their dogs drag them to mine, "Oh, he's friendly!" Dude, mine's not, go away!!!

Kriger was semi similar. He put his first owner in the ER when he was a year old, then I got him after he was returned to Cher car

I do best with the troublemakers.

Yea I hate handlers like that. I had a situation at baker wood lot on campus with some labs. They came running up on kriger and I after last minute I didn't take leyf. Same thing "oh my dog is nice!" As I'm pushing it away from kriger. He's fairly tolerant but if a dog gets in his face he'll lash out. I had some stern words at them about if I had my other dog right now yours would be currently on its way to the emergency vet with a torn open jugular.

When people say "He's friendly" and I say "She's not", that usually works to keep them away. If they don't say anything and are just letting their dog come up to mine I have no problem telling them not to let their dog come up to a leashed dog. But these are also usually the people that think the Dogs Must Be On a Leash signs don't apply to them, and of course the dog doesn't have a recall... People just have no dog sense.

I try to go to the lesser known trail spots like Legg Park or Rose Lake where I'm less likely to cross paths with other dogs or humans.

Rose Lake is one of the best

(also pictured is my late West German, Ruger. He passed away this past December at the age of 14. He was my first working dog and a hell of one at that)

Aww, I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your Ruger. He looks like he was a great dog.

I love that first pic, he looks like he's having a blast.

Yeah, that spot sure does look familiar...
