Not sure if he's in shed or not?

So my baby corn snake head is kinda dull in colouring but the rest of his body is bright and I'm not sure if he's going into shed or not. His eyes are normal and not cloudy. So I'm just wounding if that means he's starting to go in shed. And he is normally always on the cold side. But now he's always on the hot side, and he use to always come out at night time now he just stay in in hide on the warm side

As a first time snake owner I had kind of the same issue.

Our snaker is a hider. He doesn't seem to ever like coming out from under his rock, even at night from what I've noticed.

A couple weeks ago I noticed he had been pooping in his water, so it looked as if he was sitting in it.

About a week after his eyes were cloudy, then just on Saturday he shed.

I'd say keep an eye out for things like that. I also noticed when I had him out that his skin upon real close inspection started to look a little wrinkly in some spots.

That's the best advice I can offer.

Does his head look like it has a slight hint of blue to his skin?
