Soil & Moss

Rave

New member
My local petstore switched all their snake enclosers substrate to exoterra Plantation soil, & Exoterra Forest Moss (it does look amazing). The Head reptile staff member working said it was fine and wouldnt cause any problems.

The packaging says the dirt is good for burrowing animals, and the moss says it is good for snakes.
I dont think it would cause respitory problems as it wouldn't be dusty, but the Humidity could cause some problems.

I am still going to use Aspen but I'd like your opinions on this.

From reading that, it looks like the plantation soil is just made from coconut fiber, which I believe several people have mentioned using.

Not sure about the forest moss (although I bet it would be really good for a moist hide for shed time).
