If you know not the saga of Steve, you are missing out. The link is here:

So, apparently Steve's cousin Steve decided to cheer me on as I was packing to go camping a couple days ago. He's not even a full grown Steve yet, and is a half inch long.

He was on the banister, running up and down like a cheerleader. Made it very hard to photograph him.

He even tried jumping on me a couple times. This was not particularly appreciated.

Glamour shot. Giant Steve is a very handsome young Steve.

Oh!!! I miss Steve. I have had outdoor Steves jump on me. They are just checking things out and don't stay long...

I'm new to jumping spiders being called Steve. I'm guessing there's a story behind that?

We have Steve cousins around here, and though I'm a bit arachnophobic, they are one of the few spiders I like and will go a bit out of my way for, catching and taking outside if they are in the house for example, unlike my more usual method of squashing spiders indoors. But they tend to seem much smarter than other spiders and generally don't move quick, run towards me or jump at me, thus saving their little lives.

Giant Steve tried to jump on me a couple times. Made me fairly flinchy. Maybe he wanted to go camping with me?

Steve hails from what I remember as The Good Old Days here. When DYK was new. Toshiro invented DYK. I wonder what happened to him. He was the person who introduced me to what's that thing where you run up buildings and stuff...And Steve. All spiders from then on were Steves.
