Thermostat for window air conditioner?

Branching out into geckos
The heat snuck up on us and so we put our window air conditioner in the animal room yesterday. It has a 3 prong cord otherwise I could use something like the thermostat I use for my heat pads. Does anyone know where I can get a thermostat to use with this air conditioner? It would have to be the on/off type that I could plug the unit into. Home Depot doesn't have any so I thought I would throw it out there and see if anyone here knows or has an idea.

Don't know that I have an answer for you but if you search Google with the words
thermostat for window Air you will find a few discussions in Groups about altering the unit. I read thru some and it doesn't look overly easy.
