I've never heard of bloodred related heath issues. Snows need to have shelter from excessive light since their eyes are red. My snow's vision is not as good as my anery's, but the snow is a very placid snake and things may not bother him as much.
 
Bloodreds don't have more health problems. I've never heard that.
I love my bloodred, but I wish he was less orange.
My blizzard is absolutely stunning.
