    ACR names and registrations

    I've been poking around the ACR in preparation for registering my snakes and I notice that the registry (unlike many other animal registries) allows for the renaming of animals: if "XYZ Corns" registered an animal as "XYZ's 001" and then sold that animal to "ZZY Colubrids", "ZZY" could rename...

    Equally large boa

    One of my LJ friends has a new theory -- the solution to everything is "An equally large boa" -- and she's inviting people to make lolsnakes.

    cornsnakes.com merchandise?

    Does cornsnakes.com have any merchandise (buttons, t-shirts, etc) available through a Cafe Press store or something similiar? It would make reptile show meet-ups easier if we had matching apparel. :)

    Why are hybrids evil?

    I'd really like this to be a civil, well-reasoned thread, and I know we can make it so, but to help things along, I want to limit this to just talking about hybrids within the Elaphe/Pantherophis species. That is New World corn/rat snake crosses. Should we be trying to maintain some kind of...

    Is it spring yet?

    Not in NH! I love winter, but I'm restless for spring herping, especially since the corns I want to breed won't be ready until next year. :) Is it spring where you?

    Visiting Starsevol

    I had a great time visiting Beth tonight and took a bunch of pictures of her beautiful snakes, including Vidalia, one of the prettiest corns I've ever seen: http://www.flickr.com/photos/batwrangler/sets/72157603898274888/

    DNA testing for herps?

    DNA testing is becoming common and affordable for horses, dogs, cats, and birds. Does anyone know if DNA testing is available for herps as well? I think the contents of a cornsnake DNA database could be very interesting.

    Mmmmm, butter!

    New babies from Dean arrived Thursday. I'm planning to eventually make sulfur stripes with their help. Aren't they beautiful? First picture is the female butter motleyXstripe. Second picture is the male butter motleyXstripe.

    Plastic = paper, who knew?

    Probably a bunch of you veterans already know this, but I just found out that "disposable" plastic supplies like deli cups are considered "paper products" in the restaurant supply industry! Next week I'm going to see what the local "paper supply" warehouse to keeps in stock. :)

    Do creamsicles have plain or checked bellies?

    My friend has a cornsnake named Creamsicle for her lovely orange color. Without knowing anything about her parentage, is there anyway to tell if she's a creamsicle (hybrid)? (You can see her here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/batwrangler/402684580/in/set-72157594522181174/) Thanks!
