    Urgent Help Required!

Hi my female has laid unexpected eggs. I am not new to breeding and bred her sucessfully last year and had 27 hatchlings. However this year she was not brumated nor was she in contact with a male! I have included a pic - obviously the small yellow egss are unfertilised. But are the white ones...

    Slitting eggs?

Theres this one egg that hasn't hatched out of 21. The first pippie was about 3 weeks ago and the other 20 hatched over a course of a couple weeks. I can see this last snake through the window of the egg but it doesn't seem to be moving. How do I slit open the egg to have a better look?

    Seperating Infertile Eggs?

Theres 2 infertile eggs of a clutch of 12, which was laid about 3 weeks ago. They were obviously infertile from the start but very well stuck to the other eggs. Now, they have gone rather mouldy and the mould has spread to the neighbouring eggs a little, which are fertile. Should I try to...

    Umbilical Cord Attached, Help Please!

So my little amel has been out of his egg for 2 days now, he seemed to absorb all the yolk and be healthy. But his umbilical cord is hanging off him. I thought it would dry up and fall off but it hasn't yet and I tried to do a search but I can't really find much info. What should I do?

    Help with hatchling water bowls

I built my own hatchling rack for my babies which looks great and works well. The temperatures are great. The problem I'm having is with water bowls and humidity. I tried paper towel substrate in the tubs with bottle caps as water bowls... but the little ones found ways under the paper towel and...

Help me! First time mother with question!

Ok so I'm currently on day 71 of incubation. All the eggs appear plump and healthy. They are very clumped together so the eggs on the bottom have been hard to look at. Yesterday morning I looked in and all appeared to be normal, no dimpling, no slits, nothing. Last night I looked in again and...

    Dimpling eggs...

I'm a little worried about my clutch of 22 eggs. They seem to be dimpling alot... they aren't going bad but they aren't that nice clean white they were at the start... I've heard dimpling is a sign that it isn't humid enough but I think it is too humid in my incubator. There are several large...

    Both Snakes Not Eating!!

I've had my 3 year old male and 4 year old female for a long time and have never ever had feeding problems. After deciding I wanted to breed them it all went wrong!! After they were both brumated they both ate steadily for about 6 weeks. As they are my only pair they lived together in the...

Well I know I haven't been on here much since I moved out of my mums, still haven't got that internet connection set up lol... The problem is I've tried breeding Jake & Electra several times now. Left them in together for a day twice a week for the past three weeks. He watches her every move...

    An Official Goodbye! :(

Well some of you may have noticed I haven't been online so much recently. I've had lots to do and sort out. I am getting a flat with my boyfriend! Basically I'm going to be really broke (currently living at home, not used to paying for electricity etc.) and I don't think paying for a broadband...

    Help me!! I need reassurance...

Checked on my brumating snakes today and changed their water, hadn't looked at them in about 4 days. Anyway - they seemed ok I guess, very quite and just looked at me with a couple tongue flicks. But I've never brumated before... Are they usually really still and stop coming out of hiding ever...

    Heating Plastic Tubs

In preparation for the 08 hatchlings... Are all plastic tubs safe to use heat mats under? Or the ones that say microwavable? Rather than a rack I'm going to have a 6" x 48" mat and have all the hatchling tubs beside each other on it... So not sure if the plastic would get affected by the heat?

    Swimming During Pregnancy?

I have only put my snakes in the bath a couple times. I gave it a good rinse first and then put some water that was just about warm to touch in it, but not enough that they actually 'swam.' They were both fine with it. When my females gravid I was thinking giving her a twice weekly swim would...

    Jakey's - Stunner Normal!

I just thought I'd have to upload all my random pics of Jake that have been taken in the last couple months... cos he's such a stunner for a normal. Quite similarily coloured to an okeetee, much more orange then the general brown colour of normals. The 2nd pic is the one where I took his photo...
