    Northern VA Snake

I haven't posted in a while but my husband ran across this guy as we were cleaning up the front flowerbeds. Not sure exactly what it is but our best guess is a copperhead. He was nice until we tried to catch him to move him away from the house. Pic isn't the best but we didn't want to get too...

    The colorful snows...

Ok...I posted pics before about my yellow snows but they weren't that great. Here I have more pics, in natural light of Snowball (2005) and Shimmer (2006). I have no clue what's going on with these guys. Snowball is supposed to be a snow not het for anything and Shimmer came out of my sunglow...

    Charm the Miami

We got Charm from Kathy Love in 2005 at Daytona. She's turned out to be a gorgeous Miami girl with a seriously silver background. I find it interesting that her pupils always seem smaller than my other snakes - or maybe I just notice her iris more. ~Katie

    Fiolette the diffused lavender

I haven't taken pics of these girls in a while and actually had some time today. I only got to take pics of Fiolette because the camera battery was dying. We got her (and our other girl, Flora) from Rich. They were the last of his 2005 plasmas. She's a very muted, light lavender and the...

    Yellow Snow

Now quit thinking of winter and outside animals. These are two snows that I have...one I got from another breeder (the male) and the other I bred myself (the female). The girl, Shimmer, is the product of my Sunglow girl and my Sunglow Motley boy who were both apparently het anery. Not sure...

    Sir Hiss

I haven't posted pics of this guy in a while. This is Sir Hiss...our western hognose. He lives up to his name all the time. Gives some great "mean" shots though. ~Katie Since the image isn't working for me here's the link...

    Stupid Verizon

Hiya guys...so I haven't been on in a while (8 days in fact - I'm going through withdrawal). We're mostly moved into our new house - the good news. The bad news is that Verizon doesn't even have our building on the map yet. They're telling us that they should have everything ready by the Oct...

    Corns in Cosmo

Right...so I got my new issue of Cosmo today. Flipping through it and reading the amusing stories I see a picture on page 230 that has me doing a double take. They have a pic of a normal corn shedding. I just thought it was amusing. It did go along with a question but I won't repeat that...

    My mystery anery hatchling...

I still think something else is going on with this little guy. Haven't sexed it yet but it did shed and the shed was completely clear - absolutely no pigment on it like it's siblings. Definately darker than when he first came out but gorgeous all the same. ~Katie

    What am I?

Right...so this was a small clutch of 4 eggs and a first time for both mom and dad. What is this little guy? First pic is of him alone in natural light and then next pics are (bad) of this guy and an anery sibling. I have my ideas but wanted to see what everyone else thinks. ~Katie

    Moving around IN the egg?

Right...so I haven't hatched out tons of snakes but enough to know that once they start to come out they come out of that spot and don't move around again. Basically where I see the nose poke out is where they crawl out of. So this is what I saw yesterday on one of our eggs. I come in...

    Hatchling with Prolapsed Innards

So this was my last flourescent hatchling - a full day after the one before came out. I thought at a very quick first glance that it had more yolk to reabsorb but obviously that wasn't the case at a closer look. The pictures aren't the best - they make it look dried out when it wasn't/isn't...

    Shelly and Tails goofing off...

Jonathan caught this pic of our girls as he was leaving for work today and snapped the shot. Thought it was adorable. It's kind of funny because Shelly completely rearranges the cage multiple times a day but the only thing she doesn't move is that big hide so Tails goes up there to annoy her...

    Individual 2007 Hatchlings...

We're very amel heavy this year again. Had a clutch of 4 snows and 1 amel (all het charcoal) and our flourescents are hatching out right now. Some of these pics are kinda blurry (won't necessarily make the WIR) but it's the best I could do with squirmy hatchlings. Hopefully more to come after...

My flourescent pippies are lacking color...

These guys started hatching yesterday and it looks like their color will be amazing. In case you're wondering, yes, these were posted in the breeding section too ;) More to come once they're out - hopefully tomorrow! ~Katie
