If I didn't know better, I'd have said this is an Ultra Okeetee. But his dad is an ultramel okeetee and his mom a Reverse Okeetee so I know for sure he's Ultramel. I love the dark colouring though.

I love the wide striped motley pattern on this little guy. He doesn't have a faulty eye - that's a piece of vermiculite stuck on his eye. :)

I'm reluctant to post this thread, as I'm still not 100% certain what these actually are. Don from SMR has bred them to Kastanies, and so far it appears that the Javas are in fact Kastanies. Which I guess would in fact make these Mandarins? Either way, I thought I'd post some pics as the...

A couple of years ago we imported some Kisatchies from SMR, and 3 years ago I decided to experiment a bit with them. I really liked the idea of getting out some striped kisatchie :bird: So here are F2 breeding results (so far): Not sure exactly what to call them though?? :uhoh:

I've been working on my ultramel okeetee project for a couple of years, and this morning I finally hatched one that I think is a gorgeous example of how a ultramel okeetee should look. Love the gorgeous wide "purple" borders on this one. The overall colouring is quite unusual, but I love it :D

I thought I'd post some updated pics of some of my ultramel okeetee keepers. Some of them were in the blue, so I didn't bother taking pics of them. But so far I'm really pleased with their colouring:

These little guys started hatching yesterday as well (got 8 clutches of corns hatching at the moment :eek:) I think some of them will be nice high whites - I'll have a better idea once they all shed.
