The egg carton idea was such a spur of the moment kind of thing. I was in desperate need of some kind of hidey house for Ninja and luckily, I had an empty egg carton laying around :dancer:
Ninja shed his old skin today. I noticed that he'd been overdue for the shed, and I figured that he was having some troubles considering his skin was folding over and dry-looking despite misting him and his viv daily when he was in blue..but I'm reluctant to say that he doesn't necessarily have anything in his viv that's rough enough to rub against. So today, I put Ninja in a closed off tub with a cloth and some room temp water and let him soak for a bit. Afterwards, I put in a hide from August's viv and he rubbed himself against that and the cloth and eventually freed the skin off his nose and head. Once he had that free, I helped him further by placing him in a towel and let him slide through the towel and he shed his skin nicely So as promised, here are the post-shed pictures of Ninja!
Both Ninja and August are both on fuzzies together They are growing so nicely! I take a lot of photos of these guys, but hey, everyone likes photos so why not?
This is typical feeding Ninja! Such intensity! There has been really only one or two times where he was a lame feeder...
Thank you! You should definitely try the egg carton hides! Ninja is the only one of my babies that has one, but he loves it! He also loves hiding under it so it's like a multiple hide in one!
I initially wanted to get a few pics of Ninja with his tiny blue beady eyes, but last night when I went to take the pics, he'd already cleared!!! Oh well Can't wait til this boy sheds, I love watching his yellow sides come in more and more!
You can still TELL he's due for a shed soon.
Also, I gave him a little soaking earlier in the day. He did good, especially the part where he did a nice poo in the water uke02: Hope he sheds soon
Ninja finally shed today Earlier I noticed he was out so I figured he was getting ready to peel some skin off anyway but I couldn't sit and wait because I was going to give VanHa her 15 minute swimming exercise. Well, when I came back 15 minutes later, Ninja had started!! So I quickly grabbed my camera and snapped a bunch of pics for you guys
