I am the mother to a new teenage corn snake owner!

I don't like having my daughter sign up for accounts in her own name so I agreed to open one for her. Then there is the fact that she thinks she knows everything and I'm the one who ends up finding out all the real facts.

Our snake is about 16 months old and just over a foot long. We got him after a friends child wanted a bigger, better snake! This one's just fine for us.

I'm ready to find out all we need to know to raise "Checkers", into healthy adulthood!

Welcome. This board is great for getting good information about snake care. I have learned tons about proper feeding schedules, first aid, and health and met a variety of wonderful people here.

There are a few other Canucks around here, so feel free to ask location-specific questions. We will do our best to help you out.

Hi there and Welcome to the forum :D It's great to see a mother involved and excited about a snake as a pet. Our parents would never had allowed us to get one. But now we don't live with them so we got 2 babies last christmas and since we have become loving parents to 11 corns. Just be careful lol corn snakes are ADDICTING!

Welcome to the forum! I just joined a few days ago, and have learned SO much about snakes in general, not just corn snakes. This site is awesome for learning--and meeting people with a love for snakes, too.
What kind of (corn?) snake is it, kiddycorral?
Tell your daughter I am also a teenage snake owner. My mother was none too pleased :D

Welcome to the forum!!! I lived in Okotoks back in the 90's. Nice place.
Thanks for the welcome, Okotoks has grown by leaps and bounds. It's no small town now.
We are almost at the 30,000 mark and are getting big box stores now, Costco, Winners, Micheals and more!

Thanks for the welcome, I'm fine with most animals as pets, the only pet she'll never be allowed to have is a spider of any kind!!!!
