Welcome! He is just precious! I can't believe I just said that.....2 months ago I would have said you were nuts to have a pet snake.....LOL! Now, here I am telling you how precious you are and kissing on mine! Anyway, welcome and congrats on your new little guy! He really is gorgeous!

Hi Tony, welcome.
This place is so full of handy tips, read the stickies or faqs to start with. Almost everything you might need to know is there, if not you can probably find it by searching. Some things are still hard to find, you can always just ask.

It all starts so innocently, doesn't it.
Soon you may have 20 of the little ones, then breeding them , then raising rodents by the hundreds, then..........
Oh, sorry.
Welcome to the insanity, corns rock!

Welcome , tony1234

And pray tell, just how did you arrive at the decision to pick up a motley butter? It's beautiful.

Welcome, Tony!!! Congrats on the butter! I've got a pair and I love them.

Just a little note to watch for... I note that you have him in a critter keeper. Be careful! I've seen some corns (and a kingsnake and a night snake) that have the ability to wedge themselves against the longer top side and squeeze under the lid and out to freedom. Your corn might be too small to do that now... but very shortly, it will be able to do so.

At any rate, congrats on your new addition as well.

thanks every one for your replys. i dont now i have wanted a corn for quite some time now and was waiting for the hatchlings to be put on sale when he showed me the ones what were ready i just loved the motley butter. he has little pink eyes too lol. would it help if i put something heavy on top of the lid o prevent him pushing. also i need help with a name. any suggestions
thanks again

I think it might help... to an extent. Too much weight might exacerbate the problem.

I'm not a real fan of critter keepers to keep corns in (or any snake for that matter), but if you think it'll work, then that's up to you. Just understand that you'll need to upgrade to a new tank sometime soon anyway. :D

Welcome to the Forum! This is a great place to hang out! And don't listen to those other voices, some of us do have the will power to avoid 20+ snakes and a rodent community in the backroom :D

I agree! They make great feeding tanks, but I'd prefer something much studier for those times when I wasn't around to keep an eye out on them.

it was actually sold as a small fish tank. it measures 15x10x10 so is quite big for the little guy. he just hides away all day. im about to give him his first feed. wish me luck!
