Hi, after recently adopting a baby corn snake (on 9/9/09), I decided to find a forum I could be a part of, and this seems like a good one so far. =)

Well, about me and my new baby! So this isn't my first rodeo with reptiles, however it is my first one with snakes. But being the good animal lover that I am, I did my research before investing. Then I decided that a corn snake seemed like the perfect snake for me; doesn't grow very large, easy to care for, etc.

[Not sure about people's opinions on this... but I adopted him from someone on Craigslist.] Was browsing craigslist (aquariums, etc) and came across someone selling a baby corn snake, so he sent me pics and I absolutely loved it. So we met up and that's how he became mine.

Right now I'm housing him in a 20gal. I use a probe thermometer to monitor his temps. He has a warm side that reaches no hotter than 85F and the cool side stays above 70F. He has a hide on both sides, water dish big enough to soak in if he wants. He is on fir bark right now, he seems to like it, but I'm seeing how he does... and I do feed him in a different tank so not really any chance of ingestion. He has decor both on floor level and branches that hang for climbing. Hmm I can't think of any more details to provide. If anyone wants to know anything else, feel free to ask or point out if i'm doing something wrong.
I'm adding a picture of him (it was taken by the previous owner but I do believe it was within this last week) and hopefully I can soon take new pictures of him and his enclosure.
Thanks everyone =)

Ohh and btw, can anyone tell me if you know if he's just a reg corn or if he's an okeetee or possibly any other morph? The guy claimed he's an okeetee, just want other opinions.

Welcome aboard! Sounds like you have a nice setup. The FAQs around here will answer a lot of questions, and many of us strongly recommend Kathy Love's book as a great resource. I can't be a bit of help on the morph. I've been messing with reptiles for 35+ years, but we just got into corn snakes a few months ago. Have fun!
