2 Fuzzies vs. 1 Baby rat?

We got our ball python when she was two months old in August of 06'. She was about 11 inches long when we got her then. The petstore said that she was on 1 fuzzy every 5 days so I remained doing that for about a month til I started looking at different threads on this forum about F/T. I tried everything from braining to microwaving and she just wouldn't even go over and at least sniff it lol... so about a month of trying to do all that I switched back to fuzzies.

I couple of months later she started looking around for another after she was done with that one so I switched her to two a day because the petstore said that it would be okay that she was big enough then to do that.

Well, now she has the girth of a small rat so I gave her one the other day and she took it fine and no regirge yet.

I'm still very new to the snake world so I really need to know opinions on what you do with your snakes? Is 2 Fuzzies better than 1 Baby Rat? or visa versa? Any and all opinions welcome... I'm still learning lol thanx everyone!!!

I know this is totally different than the question on the thread but also is Pine ok to use for the bottom of the cage?

Thanx,

Lil.

I think as the python will eventually get big enough to eat adult rats, switching to rats as a staple is a good idea. Pine-noooooooooooo! It is harmful to snakes

Thank you very much!! I know for a fact that Pine is bad for rodents (hence the reason why I have it lol because I bought it for my rodents and was told it was very bad for them so it was up in my closet for the longest time lol) but wasn't sure if it was bad for reptiles, forgive me lol... so which do you recommend Diamondlil? We are basically using White sheets of paper to line the bottom with (duhh, I'm a dummbbutt lol). Someone told us a while back we could do that but I've noticed alot on the pics in this forum that everyone has some type of woodchips on the bottom of their cages so it kinda made me curious lol...

Thanks so much,

Lil. :)

I use aspen for my BP, never had any problems.

Switching to rats now is a good idea to save you hassle later; I'd stick with an appropriate-sized rat. :)

Thanx so much... I think I will stick to the baby rat. She seemed very filled after that one lol. After the mice, she seems to always want more more more after every one of them lol even after two she looks around for another one and I wasn't about to feed her 3 mice at a time lol. I'm definitely going to go get a baby rat and some aspen at the petstore later on today. It's 6:38am right now though. I assume you can buy aspen at the petstore as well? Thanx for your advice :)

Lil.
