im planing on buying a hatchling soon and im planning on housing it in a 10 galllon tank. after it gets too big for it i would want to move it into a 55 gallon (4' x1'). would this be okay? i just want to make use of my empty 55

Snakes feel more secure in a snug environment. Too much space scares them. I wouldn't use one quite that big. Just my 2 cents. :)

My snake is not quite one year old and 32 inches. I just upgraded him to a 60 gallon and he loves it (from what I can tell). Just make sure you can find a screen cover that can fit it properly. Mine is a fish tank so it has an odd sized moulding around the top and I am still trying to get a screen cover that fits right.
