A mean Water Snake and a cute Ribbon

I went fishing today. I was able to grab these two guys out of the water.

I must have seen 15-20 Northern Water Snakes today swimming in the creek. This is the only one I even attempted to catch. He bit the hell out of me. Mean little snake. I don't know what it is about the teeth in a water Snake, but they tend to lacerate more than other snakes.

A few yards up the creek I caught a cute little Ribbon Snake. He would have made a nice meal for a bass or one of the gajillion Gar that were feeding on the surface. I moved him to the side of the creek a little up from where the Gar were feeding.

I love the little fish eyes on that ribbon snake. :)

So cool. Every time you post photos it reminds me that I need to get out of the house and go herpin'.
