Hi all,
Does anyone have, or have a link to, a good picture of a snow or other light male snake being candled for gender? I have a snow who is about 175 grams now, and I'm starting to suspect "she" might be a "he." I'm very inexperienced with sexing, and will probably confirm with the reptile center in my vicinity, but I would really appreciate any help with this. Thanks!

I would also love a picture of sexing via candling!

(Also Arizona Reptile Center only charges 5 or 10 bucks for sexing - can't remember which number it is!)

Last time I checked, the ARC was charging $4 per sexing, but since I bought my snow there, they might let it go...?

This is the best I could do with an admirably cooperative little butter motley. It's almost impossible to get a good picture with an adult, but all of the principles are essentially the same. I've included the original photo and one where I've labeled what you are looking for.

yes, even shortly after birth, they are usually pretty pronounced. Also, they are a significant distance from the cloaca, usually at least a half dozen scales or more. From what you are saying, I think your snow was probably sexed correctly as female.
