I was holding my BP Irwin last night. He was hanging around my neck and then I heard it...it sounded like a small squeak, maybe almost a wheeze. If anyone has a cat or a small animal, it sounded like that was sniffing my ear. **If that made sense**

I listened again and he did it a few more times, not with every breath though. He just seemed to do it when I startled him a bit. He was very cold when I picked him up, probably because he was cruising around his tank, and he's been hanging around in his cool hide.

I am VERY paraniod about an RI, does this sound like one? I bumped his temps up and humidity, is there anything else I can do?

That sounds a lot like what I experienced with my adult corn, Zelda, when I went to take her from her eggs a couple weeks ago. This is all new to me, though. It almost sounded like she sneezed. She nudged at me at the same time. I didn't actually know she had eggs under her until the next day. I later found out that this was normal for a mommy to be snake. It sure scared me to death, though. Hopefully this is something similar with you. I'm sure someone much more experienced than me can help you much better. I just thought I'd share my experience with you, and wish you the best.

I'm very glad that your snake is just fine.

Mine, however, is not a corn snake. It is a ball python. And HE definitely is not going to lay eggs any time soon :)

I have on occasion had a snake 'sigh' or breathe heavily in to my ear, but have never heard a wheeze. Are his nose and mouth clear? Is there any mucus or bubbling? Is he sitting with his mouth wide open? These are all signs of an RI.

Definetly worth keeping an eye on him, if nothing else.

Yes, his nose is clear. I am pretty sure his mouth is clear. I always look inside to make sure when he re-aligns it after feeding to make sure. No bubbling, no mucus, no mouth open breathing. *knocks on wood*

I can only hear it once and awhile when his face is right up to my ear when the room is queit. Very faint, and does not happen with every breath.

I should probably mention that I watch his temps like a HAWK. Warm side is always 90-92 and cool end is around 82. Humidity is around 60% Nice and cozy for a ball python.
