An update... and a new set of newbie questions

Leonore

snake momma
Hey all. :wavey:
I've been staying away for a while so I wouldn't get obsessively worried.

Good News! Pebbles had a perfect perfect shed a few days ago and finally ate her first pinkie in my care on Sunday night! :dancer: I am so relieved. I had to leave her overnight with the mousey, but at least it worked.
...honestly, I just didn't even want to mess around/stress her out, so I just put her in the deli cup in the viv and let her be - never even checked until morning (I did have snake dreams all night - lol). I know she didn't eat immediately, but it could have been 30 min, could have been several hours.

The other nice thing is that she has been really active at night (until I fed her, of course). Once she shed, she was cruising all over the viv in the evenings. up until then, I had only seen her out of the hide once, so it's been a really nice few days of enjoying views of our little girl.

So... I know not to bug her now as she digests, but I am also assuming I should wait to really handle her, right? (especially considering how difficult she began)
Feed her again in about 5 days from last feed?
Maybe a 3rd feed before I bother with a weigh-in or any holding?
When I feed her next, do I need to do a good check through the substrate first to make sure she didn't regurge, or would that be obvious?

Thanks!
nice to be back and have my nerves under control... for now

If you're around her tank every day the regurge would be obscenly obvious so you don't have to worry about rooting through the tank.
Now I'm a little out of the loop how long ago was the regurge?

I would get maybe one more feeding in, wait 2-3 days to let her digest, and handle away. Brief handling like 5-10 minutes 1-2 a week isn't overly stressful anyway and I know your dying to;). Congrats on getting that meal in it gets easier from there I swer though next time I would do the same exact thing except do check before you dooze off and hopefully she will have eaten sooner:)

after feeding, or things won't be normal.
4- Yes you can feed five days after last feeding.
5- Weigh in whenever you like.
6- No ned to search..you'll know!! BAD Smell. See #3.
7- Having a drink to settle nerves. It's normal.
