Hi! I have a question about my new baby cornsnake. Despite handling her often, she remains edgy when she's handled and never calms down. My question is how long does it generally take before a young snake gets use to being handled? She just never calms down, which is sad because she's very pretty and I'd like to be able to handle her without worrying about scaring her.

If it's a hatchling it may take a while. In the wild the snakes need this to survive, but in captivity it will eventually wear off. If you handle her regularly (except 48 hrs. after feeding) she should mature out of this phase and become a more calm snake and you will be able to handle her more easily.
