Anyone ever bred a Corn to a King?

I have a friend who owns a couple of Cali Kingsnakes. He tried to breed them, but ended up with just a couple slugs. Now he's approached me with the offer of pairing up my biggest male (Ketchup) with his female. Has anyone ever done a breeding like this before? Are there any pointers I should know of?
