Anyone from the OC?

Because it is so hot right now and I don't think the heat pad is necessary. The temps reach the high 80's without a heat pad or any other heating unit. Humidity is very low, so we have to keep misting the tank. The cool side is also around the mid-80's and won't get cooler. Anyone have these problems?

On warm days in the summer if I dont have the A/C running then the thermostat just keeps my heat mats turned off. The corns dont seem to be bothered by it and the mats kick on when it starts cooling down at night.

I use a thermostat. So there is a thermometer that reads the temperature and when it is high enough it lowers the power to my heat mats to keep them at 87 degrees. If it is warmer than 87 degrees in my room (which happens some summer days) then it just turns them off.

It's been warm enough here that my mats haven't been on all summer.
As stated though if you don't have a Thermostat you may want to get one before winter..
You'll definitely need one in Anaheim..
