Are there any virtually safe live plants to keep in a viv?

I was wondering if it is safe to keep a live plant inside a viv? If so, what kind of plants would be least susceptable to getting mites or parasites? And what type of soil would be used if kept in a pot? im assuming fertilized soil might be harmful to a corn?

my personal favourites are the succulents (Sp?)
they're like cacti, but without the spines. i've got a large jade plant and a few others like aloe.
not really mite safe, what plants are? just take precautions before adding anything living into your viv.

I've put in pothos plants. They are safe and they look nice. I've not been able to get them to last for very long though as the snakes beat the garbage out of them when they climb thru them. This is especially true when they get to adult size. I've gone to silk plants which they like just as well, look nice, and don't die.

artificial plants are great because they dont have to be planted in dirt, they aren't poisonous, they dont die, and they can be cleaned if soiled. They come in so many colors and sizes that you its easy to find the "perfect" plant.

We use the little potted plants from Lowe's. They are only $2.50 each and last anywhere from 3 weeks to a month and a half. I water them when I change Creeper's drinking water. She likes to curl up in them afterwards when the dirt is moist and cool. Here are a couple of pics.

I have used pothos in many vivariums for lizards, but I have only ever used fake plants for snakes
