Well, the exotic animal vet was finally back from vacation and I took Irwin in to see if he had an RI.
I explained the situation to the vet, the noise I heard when I took him out of his tank, what his temps are ect.
First he made 'friends' with Irwin, just touched his back lightly to get Irwin used to him, then the vet opened up his mouth *which Irwin did NOT like* and checked his nose and did a full check-up. He said nothing looked abnormal, but from the description I had given him sounded like the beginnings of a RI and it was a good thing to get him checked out.
He prescribed Ceftaz (I think that's how you spell it) He asked if I was comfortable giving him an injection, and when I told him I was nervous, he just asked me to hold Irwin and explained in great detail how to do it.
All said and done, the actual exam costed $54 and the medication was $16. Not too bad, I'm pretty happy with the way Irwin was treated too
