Baird x Corn

I've seen pictures of this once before. It was the classic "mismanaged" baird look but with red instead of black. I thought it made for a really cool look. Would anybody be dabbling in such a venture? Thanks!!

Next spring I'll be breeding an amel corn to an amel bairdi to test against the amel genes in the bairdi. We'll see what we get.

I'd like to see photos of the amel bairdi. I don't think I've ever seen one. I don't think I've seen photos of bairdi x corn hybrids either.

Neither have I, but this is also the First I have ever heard of a cross between the two.

Would also like to see the amel bairdi.

A breeder here in Saskatchewan produced a clutch of corn X bairdi about 3 years ago. Hatchlings had very narrow saddles, grey background, tan saddles from what I remember. I don't know if she still has any of them - to the best of my memory they did not change in appearance much to about yearling age, which is the last time I saw photos of them. I will drop her a note and ask if she has any photos of them recently,

Very interesting - agree it looks hypo not amel.

Katt posted her Bairdi X corn photos in that thread - she is the one I knew here who had a clutch

thanks for the links,
