Ball Python Winter Heating Help

Ok

I have a UTH on him right now, since its a bit cooler these days.. in summer I didnt use one because it was steaming hot in my apartment. OK so I just got a new red bulb to use in my heat lamp (for the winter). So which side to I put it the lamp on? Do i put it above where the UTH is or on the other side? If it helps my apartment in the winter is very cold.

thanks

I would watch your temps close but put the red bulb above the side the uth is not on. Also, if your apartment is that cold I would just plug the uth in and not use a thermostat or rheostat. Again, watch your temps close though. You may have to fiddle with placement of the red bulb to keep a cool side and a hot side that is acceptable too.

Also, make sure your bedding is thick enough if you are just going to plug the uth in without controling output.
