Well, i only found out this a few posts ago, (you might find the post a few posts down from this one). You can fill either a wash basin, or bath with a few inches of not cold, but not warm water (probably room temp.) Then let your little snakey swim to its gearts content . . . If your snake has recently eaten, he/she will probably poo in your bath or basin as swimming stimulates them to poo.

Corn snakes float in water, so to your question, yes corns can swim, some like to go under water, some just like to stay with their heads above the water, like humans, all corns are different and like different things.

If your corn is quite big i would reccomend that you have it bathed in a bath as it could get quite messy in a wash basin!! lol (Also: clean the bath or basin after the snake has had a bath for obvious reasons!)

for my babies because I am scared they might go down a drain or something. I bathe them in a critter carrier. Just put in a inch of water or two. I also add like a lil floating something to use as a island incase they need a rest. I leave them in there (yes I stay watch) for 30 mins.

I've only bathed my corn once . . .

But i filled the bath with a few inches of room temp. water. And held him close to the water (i just kept my hand still and let him go into the water himself), 'cos if he didnt want to go in, then it would put him under stress.

But he went in and slithered around there for about five minutes (THEY LOOK SOOOO COOL SWIMMING DONT THEY?!?!) Then he just stopped and was floating in the water, lifted his tail gracefully, and christened the bath tub!!!

I feel really horrible

Arty really, really hates baths but I feel I have to give her a couple when shedding time comes around because a bath is the only thing that will help her shed properly. I've tried spraying and I've tried a moist hide box but they don't work. Aha, one thing I haven't tried is that Shed Ease from ESU. Has anyone else used this before? Does it work?

I also bath mine every week but increase that when they are shedding and I aint never had a bad shed so I will stick to it. I try and do it 2/3 days after feeding so that they poop and it saves me substrate!! This means running a new bath for each snake so it is no doubt a false economy but what the hell:)
