Behavior after shed

So I've had my little guy for almost a month now. He just got done with his first shed (with me) a few minutes ago. It went very well, and it all came off in one piece. I tried to hold him for just a minute when he was done, and he was a little twitchy. I put him down right away. Is this typical for post-shed behavior, or was he antsy because he is still getting used to me/had been in hiding for the last week during blueing? Thanks for the help.

I haven't had my snake very long but after my guy shed he suddenly got super active. He was all over his house and pretty much constantly out. After a couple days he went back to his normal self(a meal in there helped).

I imagine that fresh skin is pretty sensitive - in the future letting your snake be for a bit is probably a good idea.

None of mine like being handled straight out of shed. Even if they poop while shedding, I generally leave it for a few hours before disturbing them.

Mine always shed in the middle of the night, and I don't take them out to look for them for several hours after I discover the shed. Don't want to hurt them being so fresh and stuff.

I only have one snake

but I don't seem to find that my boy is sensitive or twitchy after a shed, I have even had him start a shed in my hands!! he's always active after but my touching him doesn't seem to bother him, he never seems to try to get away..

I don't think snakes are like other creatures that shed their whole outter layer, and need to rest and hide away untill their new flesh has hardened, ie.shrimp.

snakes arnt like that, from what I've seen..
but this is just MHO
