Both Completely Normal Corns?

BlackAdder

New member
Hey, I got these two Corns at a reptile show in October, and they were both sold to me as normals. I've really noticed a difference in the patterns they both have though, and I was wondering if there is some sort of name for either pattern, because they obviously aren't the same.

This is the Female - Jungle, she seems to have a more banded pattern, and the ground colour is much more silvery. I've read about there actually being a pattern morph called banded, would she be considered one?

This is the Male - Mars, his pattern is similar to what I see in many pictures of normal corn snakes, and I'm sure it is the normal pattern many of them have.

Thanks

Normals in general vary so much in looks, 2 normals, 10 normals, they could all look different.

Do a Forum search on Normals, there are some great threads with various Normals posted.

Yes, there is a pattern trait called banded. Your female is definitely banded, not just a plain ol' normal. She's a nice example, too. Congrats! Some people breed just for that look (like me).

And yes, they are both normal coloured. There is so much variation in normal!

Awesome! I really like the banded pattern, and I'm really happy that she is one. Now I want to find her a mate for the future so I can carry on that pattern.

These are my first corns, so even seeing the normal colours change as the snake gets older is exiting to me!
Thanks

She's not quite as bright in person, but she still has nice dark red saddles and a light silver ground colour. For some reason the male looks almost exactly the same, I guess his colours react differently to the flash.
