Breaking in a new snake question.....

I recently got a new hatchling, I guess about 7 or 8 months old.......Ive had it for about two weeks, and today I tried to handle for the first time and the snake went for my hand after trying to run away.


Im not used to this my other hatchlings have never ever bit me, and from the first moment I got them, they were dare I say friendly, this one seems a little more skidish.

What do I do? Do I pick her up everyday, or not pick up her and just pet her......get her used to my hands being in her tank first? then try the picking up..........
 
I would pick her up every other day for 5 mins and then work your way up. the most important thing to remember is not to put him/her back in the viv after they have bitten you. This will only teach him/her that they can bite you every time they want to go back in their viv
 
And try not to rip your hand away when she/he does bite you. It will just make your wound worse and his/her teeth could break and cause a few problems. It shouldn't take too long to tame a little corn snake. Good luck and have fun =)
 
Well after the topic I just made now I feel like I reacted the totally wrong way when mine bit me ._.
