What I was wonderinng was if anyone could give me some advice on building my own viv.

Hey Prophet,
Well I am sure you know the basic needs for a healthy snake.
Clean water at all times.
Heat pad or lamp. I use the heat pad
At least two hides, one at the cool end, one at the warm end.
Secure lid/enclosure. These suckers will get out of anything given the chance.
Good clean substrate. I use aspen. Try and clean the poop up as often as you see it.
The rest is fluff. Meaning you can make it as interesting as you like branches, plants(non-poisonous)rocks.ect.
But remember that you have to do a complete cleaning at least once a month maybe if you push it once every two months. So you need to make it easy to clean or you will tend to put it off if it becomes a chore.
Make sure that the floor will not absorb anything(poop) then you will have a bacteria buildup.
I use fish tanks,They are very easy to clean.
I hope that helps,
Jimmy C.
