building new racks

Just ordered 80' of 4'' heat tape, hardware and three thermostats. Time to build new racks... planning to build 3 10 slot 41 quart racks with belly heat. This will give give me lots of room to expand plus have plenty of room for hatchling tubs come spring (HOPEFULLY I WILL NEED THEM!)

The last rack I build I used premade shelves. I am not wanting to do this this time, I want to build everything completely from scratch.

What type of wood is recommended to be cost effective, long lasting and easy to clean? I have a TON of plywood in storage but I am afraid that this wont work well. Any ideas?

I've tried the made from scratch way and decided not to go that route ever again lol. A simple solution that is easy on the eyes, wallet, and time is just using shelving units. I just the metal kind that allow you to adjust the height of the shelf and I like that it makes my racks modular of sorts.

I've also done this both ways and will never go back to doing it from scratch. The time o build is way less and I really feel like you get a better product. I even build a platform with casters on it so that I can move it around.
