bump on belly

The other day about a week ago while cleaning out tanks i noticed that my prized male has a weird bump on the bottom of his belly. It looks like if he ate something but i know that is not what it is. When i first saw it thats what i thought so i gave him time to pass it and i found stool and the bump disappeared. Then about two days ago the same bump. Its on his belly about five inches past his head. All his functions are still doing perfect. Nothing is different besides his bump.

I'm about to post a thread about my corn as well. Check to see if it's an abscess. Or have a vet look at it. My beautiful male is marred with a horrible abscess that started as a small bump about 3 inches behind his head... it's since ruptured and looks horrible, even after vet care.

Is he adult? If not, how long is he?

In a full-grown Corn, that would be a very odd place for a bump associated with food, but in a smaller one it could possibly just be part of his digestive process. I'm especially thinking that as it disappeared last time when he pooped.

The fact that it's appearing/disappearing could indicate that it's food-related, although I'd be worried that it might be something like an abcess as suggested by SnakeLuv, that's draining internally instead of externally. Something like a tumour would be constant - that's what I observed with one of mine. Also a fat lump would be constant. Neither would come up and go down again as far as I'm aware.

In your place I'd be looking for a vet to check it out, but then I'm a bit paranoid like that! I'm sure others here can come up with alternative suggestions. Corns tend to be pretty good at hiding health problems, so other functions may carry on as normal, even with an underlying health problem. It's certainly useful that he's eating though.
