Cheap hide

I found a great, cheap hide at Walmart today!

My new little guy seems to love his halved tissue box because its low to the ground and dark. I wanted to find something just as low and dark, but permanent so I can just wash it with his other hides.

The perfect thing is a stove drip pan! I found a set of spares in the kitchen section of Walmart. It was only about $7 and it came with 2 different sizes. I'm going to use the small one now when he is young, and upgrade him when he grows out of it. They are a shallow dish shape, have a hole on the top and one on the side. Plus they are metal so they will hold in heat well.

Just wanted to share in case anyone is looking for something cheap.

Holy crap I never thought of that! I'll have to keep that in mind, as I'm always looking for more re-usable replacements for his egg carton products.

snake hides

we use the big carboard tubes that carpet is roll on, then cut them to length and drill a middle hole in them, you can put bedding in them to let your snake snuggle in.
You can take it a step further and cut a second tube then cut it down its length and double skin it and put a heat pad inbetween the 2 tubes, you can also cut a slot at either end half way through the width of the tube and slot in lengths of flat carboard to stop the tubes rolling about. I'll have to get some pic's to post on site to let you see them, they do get soiled but just bin them and make another as there FREE form most carpet shops.

Those are two hide ideas I never thought of before..I am always looking at things and wondering if it would make a good hide..you know you are too obsessed with snakes when your first thought about every object is if it could potentially be a cage enhancement

This has made even trips to the market quite entertaining. Unfortunately little Plissken hates "rounded" hides like tubes and whatnot. I have no idea what I'm gonna do when he outgrows egg cartons.
