well, how much per gallon?

i could of swore i read somewhere that said around either 2 tablespoons or teaspoons per gallon, but not sure
 
I used one capful for 5gallons. Then rinsed the tank quite a few times until i was sure it was all out then left it sat out for the day to make sure there was definitly no fumes.
 
I agree with the Cateyed lady. I have heard 10% solution. There are 128 ounces in a gallon. 10% would make 12.8 ounces, that is about a cup and a half of bleach per gallon of water.
 
I'm with wade and Cat Eyed Lady, 1 part bleach to 10 parts water.

And don't forget to rinse, rinse and rinse again!

Alternatively, I soak hides etc in baby sterilising solution diluted as per instructions and then rinse very thoroughly.
 
Yeah be very careful doing this ... I posted on here a while back saying my girlfriend almost killed my snakes by putting too much in.
 
I don't think it even says that on the back of my bleach bottle! It's more like a cap-full per gallon. Granted when I worked in kitchens we always did a 5-10% solution.

Just rinse very well! I have a small plastic tub that used to keep crickets in. I bought a new container for them and cleaned the tub with a bleach solution. I thought I had rinsed it but apparantly not. I put my serpai tetras in there to stop them from nipping my other fish and well they all went belly up after about 3 seconds. fortunately it was just the tetras and not my guarami's!
