crackling sound?

plasticknives

the bee's knees: all six
I was handling my 6 month old corn snake today-
and I noticed that while I was handling her, from time to time I'd hear little cracking sounds.
It didn't look like it had anything to do with her breathing, so I don't think It's an RI.

She just came out of blue, and I concluded that it was the sound of the old layer of scales coming loose as she was stretching. Has anyone else heard/seen this happen, and am I right?

I have noticed when my corn back tracks on itself in my hand or on my arm, the belly scales tend to catch and make a type of scraping/crackling sound.

Same here

In the time I have spent handling my corn I too have noticed a crackling sound as she backs on herself. Probably all it is and nothing to worry about, but I would make sure to listen again to breathing and make sure of everything.
