Cypress Mulch shouldn't be used! I think the substrate you are talking about is the dark bark used for tropical effects, I have used this for my snakes and is an ok substrate but i prefer aphen for corns and the darker substrate for things like my brazilian rainbow boa's as its a more natural bedding for them.
I actually meant Cypress Mulch
Although I have never used it myself, I know a few that do
I believe I read in Kathy Love's book that it was acceptable
I'm sure it is a special type, cause the stuff you get at home centers is usually wet and full of bugs
My mistake i was thinking of the wet Cypress Mulch, not the dry Cypress Mulch. Just check the corn snake manual and yeah the dry Cypress Mulch is fine, so sorry about that, it's just that i don't use it.
I know cali sand. and my short ansaw is don't use it.
It cause's really bad shedding and hold no water at all so your humidity will go out the window. I would recomend aspen, but thats a personal choice.
