Dead amel

My amel died tonight...not sure why. It's just a baby, born in 2009. I just got her 3 weeks ago. She regurgitated her last meal 5 days ago. Yesterday she was fine and tonight i found her dead. Her belly near the vent was green for about an inch. Anybody know what that means? There was black spots inside her from day one, figured it was food being digested, is that what it was? Or was it something else? Do you normaly see the food inside as a black spot on light snakes?

I have an Amel an when I first got him I freaked out cuz I saw the black spots on his belly o and was worried.. but beings they have such light colored bellies thats the organs you see.. I know I saw 3 black spots on him the one closest to his head I assum would prob be his heart lungs something like that an when he ate you could see it.. light belly snakes are awsome cuz you can tell when they are bout to poop.. LoL

Sorry for double posting.. But I am truly sorry to hear bout your baby.. Did you get it from a breeder or a pet store.. I know most times if you get from a breeder you can always call and talk to them bout it and maybe even sometimes they will replace the snake if they feel the snake wasnt neglected

Where i got it from they are not breeders. They get their stock from a well known breeder. They are also from another province. So, i wont get another one. Would cost me more then the snakes worth to go get it.

The green bit develops after death - it's not related to why it died, sadly.

Unfortunately some baby Corns do die and it's never explained. They can have internal problems that only cause a problem as they begin to grow.

Sorry you've had such a rocky start. If you ever do decide to try again, then maybe try to find a slightly older Corn that's past the delicate hatchling stage.

Aww Bones, I feel for you. I just lost my first snake 3 days after I got it. It's so devastating. I'm so sorry this happened to you. I wish the best for you and your remaining snakes!
