Double Clutching!!!

We have a question, our snake layed eggs two months ago on the 10th of this month (June)...we come home today and she is laying more eggs! So far she has layed 5 and possibly has two or three more in her. I know laying takes a toll on a snakes body but double clutching must take a bigger toll, especially this soon. She hasn't eaten in the last 4 weeks and now we know why. Is there any precautions that we can take to help her after she is done laying? Thanks for any help you can give us!

Yay!

Yay for Annabelle!! :) Sorry I cant answer your questions, but I figured I would cheer the lovely mama on since she went through all that hard work not once but twice.. LoL.. Poor Baby!

I'm worried that mine will double clutch too. I'd assume that you can do what you did after she laid the first time. Feed a smaller meal for the first few and then maybe feed more often. I was feeding every 4-5 days right after she laid and used a little nutri-bac on a couple of meals to give her a bit of a boost. She gained quite a bit of weight back, but not enough that I want her to lay again. I would also cut the backs of the mice (assuming you feed f/t) to help her digest easily. Hope you get a nice healthy clutch for her efforts!

Many females double clutch on there own with out reintroduction. I had one corn do this last year. I personally do not purposelly double clutch my females, but if they already do it on their own, take advantage and go ahead and put a male in with her next year. For now just feed her like you normally would feed a female that recently laid. Keep her full.

Thanks, she looks soo small now, she's definitely lost some weight, she's only eaten about 3 times since her first clutch...going to get some small food items today...haven't heard of the nutri-bac before, I'll have to look into that as well. Thanks Again
