Driftwood

Hi, I just found a nice big piece of driftwood while I was walking along the beach and brought it home. I am not sure whether I want to put it in the cage with my bearded dragon or my corn snake. What do I have to do to "disinfect" the driftwood to be safe to put in the cage with my reptiles? Thanks for any help, Tom.

You can do a couple things, or a combination of them...
*scrub it with sudsy water and rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse
*use a mild bleach solution and rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse (sorry...I have aquariums, too, so I'm a bit fanatical about rinsing)
*bake it in the oven, if it fits. Around 200F should do it. I'd leave it an hour or so.
*use the search button and type in disinfecting wood, or another key word ;)
