I guess Athena was holding out for Isis because both my girls started laying this morning. My school is lucky I'm here... I almost called in sick! Here are some quick pics I snapped before I left. The eggs look smaller than I thought but they are nice, plump and white so here's to hoping they are fertile.

Egg count so far... Athena is up to 12 and it looks as though she may pass a couple more... they were all stuck together and feel "plump" so I'm hoping that's a good sign... they do look small to me but i've never bred before so perhaps snake eggs are just smaller than my imagination had anticipated. I'm about to go and try to get Isis to give hers up but it looks to me like there's at LEAST twice as many under her and she still has a couple lumps as well. EEKKK!!!! Wow... for a first timer she laid a HUGE clutch.
 
OK... here's a pic of Athena's clutch so far...

Yep, those eggs look to be a good size and color. Also, is there a mouse in there with her? Just wondering because thats what it looks like.
 
Yep... i was trying to see if I could lure her head away so i could take the clutch... no way did that work... she is not finished with those yet I guess.
 
Did I also mention that Isis is a first time breeder this year? I am AMAZED at how many eggs she is laying being a first timer... simply amazed. :eek1:
 
Ok... we finally managed to remove Isis from her clutch... and i count 20 eggs... not sure if they are all viable, one for sure looks kind of small in size. But I am happy with these first two clutches... I think the girls are both done laying so the final count stands at:
Athena- 12
Isis- 20

Ohh ok, well 20 eggs is great for any snake, especially for a first timer. Update us when you have babies!
